Angela K Couch PicTo keep from freezing in the Great White North, Angela K Couch cuddles under quilts with her laptop. Winning short story contests, being a semi-finalist in ACFW’s Genesis Contest, and a finalist in the International Digital Awards also helped warm her up. As a passionate believer in Christ, her faith permeates the stories she tells. Her martial arts training, experience with horses, and appreciation for good romance sneak in there, as well. When not writing, she stays fit (and warm) by chasing after three munchkins.

That’s what I look like on paper. 🙂

Here is a little more about me.

“To live deep and suck out all the marrow of life” -Henry David Thoreau

Always a romantic, I anxiously waited for my “hero” to enter the scene. I waited a while. Meanwhile, I tried to keep myself busy.

Besides writing, I learned to start horses. There is something thrilling about being the first person to ride a young horse, not knowing how they will react. I enjoyed learning how to speak their “language, to communicate.

I trained in martial arts. First, Hap Ki Do, a Korean martial art that pretty much covers everything from Taekwondo and Judo to Aikido, and just a bit of western boxing (in case you need to defend against it). I instructed for a while and earned my second degree black belt. I have also dabbled in Karate and currently enjoy Capoeira…so yes, I love writing action/fight scenes and will often choreograph the fight with whoever happens to be around.

For about 16 months I lived in Russia as a missionary and thoroughly enjoyed learning the language and making some great friends.

Aside from these things, I love reading, gardening, camping, hiking in the beautiful Canadian Rockies, painting, and so much more.

In short, I love living!

My very own love story!

I was ecstatic when I did finally find the man I wanted to spend my life with, though slightly embarrassed when I was introduced to him still wearing my fuzzy PJs and housecoat after a productive morning of writing. At least he knew what he was getting into.

We now have three wonderful little munchkins who make life fun–and writing an adventure. 😉

  1. Angela, thank you for stopping by and “liking” my post on beta readers. Love the look and feel of your site, and I enjoyed reading your thoughts on why you write. I used to think it was the paper. Isn’t that what a printer/publisher’s daughter should think? But once I started using a Kindle my love for the written word never changed. So, I think I can affirm your conclusion that it’s the words as they blend and sweep together into story.
